Well Boys and Girls of the club:
I look for a early spring this year. Why you ask?
Because the main ramp will be replaced soon.
But guess what, your Jr. team will on the water early April for the big spring race coming up.. Our 1st regatta will be April 25-26, Laser full and radial class. @ ECSC….
The NOR (notice of race) will be posted March 25,
Your 2020 ECSC Jr, Team members are:
Deanna Nicholas: this is her last year of Jr. Sailing, she will age out of the I-LYA Jr. class. She has taken off from work this summer just to go racing and prove herself to the world. Go GIRL….
Olivia DeGrella: this is her second year on the team and will be a force to deal with this year. She has also signed up for the US Sailing Level 1’s and her summer just to race.
Sam Riley: this also his second year, He finished top 10 last year. At the age of 15 now, he will be something watch and grow into a sailing machine. He’s been around auto racing his whole life. Good Luck to you sir, don’t crash and burn!
Dunkin York: Age 15, Love’s sailing and racing and on the water. He did some racing with the team last year.
Has much to learn. Welcome aboard sir…..

Well Boys and Girls, RESULTS FROM JR. BAY WEEK:
With 38 boats on the line this year, Your rookie’s were turn into sailors!
Sam Riley, age 15 finished 9th in the GOLD fleet with a best of 5th.
Grant Goff; age 18 finished 10th in the SILVER fleet with a best of 5th.
Deanna Nicholas, age 17 finished 14th in the SILVER fleet with of best 7th.
Olivia DeGrella, age 15 finished 16th in the SILVER fleet with of best 11.

Jr. Bay Week 2019
With over two hundred boys and girls ages 13-18 will be dueling on the Laser and C420 for the I-LYA Junior Championship.
ECSC is sending 5 junior sailors this year to do battle on the big water of Lake Erie at Put-In-Bay.
Grant Goff was last years Silver Fleet Winner.
Jack Hadlock is in his second bay week and starting to move up.
1st timers Deanna Nicholas, Olivia DeGrella and Sam Riley will be making the show.
Our coach is the very talented Reagan Lessick along with Matthew Davis as assistant coach for the team. (Matthew is from Buckeye YC, Ohio and has volunteered to help your team.)

Last month the Jr. Team ran the Jr. summer camp at ECSC with over 40 young sailors learning the ropes. Thanks go out to Christina Williams our camp director this year. Dennis Jr. Robertson assistant director and to the ECSC Jr. Team members for their support and skills in having a very safe two weeks. And many thanks to Dennis and Jenipher Robertson for all of their help.

I just got word that Dennis Jr. Robertson and Jack Hadlock have passed the U S Sailing Level 1 class. Good job guys…

After Jr. Bay Week the Jr. team and support personal will make the trip to Sandusky, Ohio for our 7th regatta of this year. There are only 11 regatta’s this year, last year we travel to 17 sailing evants.
What can I say, but again thanks to all!

Well Boys and Girls,
June is very busy month for ECSC Jr. Sailors:
But first I would like to say, “Thank You” to all of our members that support the ECSC Jr. Sailing Team.
June 1st ~ The Jr. team will do battle in the 1st I-LYA Travelers Series at Buckeye Lake YC, about 30 miles East of Columbus Ohio. This club goes back in time to the early 1910’s.
June 8th ~ Alum Creek YC, # 2 on the I-LYA Travelers Series. Just 5 miles North of Columbus Ohio. This club is part of The Ohio Park system. Simple club house and very clean restrooms and showers.
June 6-9 ~ Cleveland, Ohio US Sailing Level 1’s , Dennis Jr. Robertson and Jack Hadlock will spent 4 – 10 hour days working on this sailing/racing/power boat/teaching program.
June 10-14 ~ 1st week of ECSC Sailing Camp over 22 kids this year.
June 20-23 ~ North Cape YC, 2 days of Advance Racing Clinic and 2 days of racing on Lake Eire (Big Water). Olivia DeGrella, Deanna Nickols and Sam Riley are onboard and geared up for this and their 1st Jr. Bay Week.
North Cape YC is 8 miles from the Ohio and Michigan state line. One of top ten clubs in the USA.

June 24-28 ~ 2nd week of ECSC Sailing Camp over 24 kids.
